Hong Kong Cinemagoers meets Turkish Movies

The Third Turkish Film Festival in Hong Kong, Izmir Cinema Association will be held on 17-22 April 2012.

Izmir Cinema Association is proud to present the third edition of Hong Kong Turkish Film Festival (HKTFF) in 2012. After the great success of the events in the past two years, Turkish cinema is coming back to Hong Kong with the latest films made in Turkey and that have been indispensable fort he major film festivals in the world.

The festival will be presenting different films of varying genres that are award winning art house productions. Turkish film festival aims to introduce a different culture from a friendly country. Sharing the same quality of bearing both Western and Eastern characteristics, Turkey and Hong might be far away in terms of miles, however the festival aims to bring these two cultures closer and closer with each film presented here.

 We would like to use this opportunity to announce that our efforts will expand in the years to come in order to introduce the arthouse film making in Turkey to filmlovers of Hong Kong. All filmgoers of Hong Kong are happily invited to the screenings of  contemporary Turkish cinema.

Films have always been a good way to understand other cultures, other geographies or even other worlds. With this perspective, Izmir Cinema Association would like to thank the Turkish Prime Ministry, Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and General Consulate of Turkey in Hong, Grand Cinema, , Wasabi Creation Limited , The Standard and Television Entertainment Licencing Authority(TELA)  for their kind support and collaboration.

Izmir Cinema Association is a non-governmental and non-profit organization aiming to introduce Turkish Cinema to a broader audience globally. The association has been organizing Turkey's biggest short film event, International Izmir Short Film Festival for the last twelve years. Besides Hong Kong, Izmir Cinema Association organizes Turkish film events in many other countries. We hope to bring you a festival for your taste.
